Nobel Prize laureates in medicine and physiology declared
Nobel Prize in medicine and physiology was awarded to Australian scientists Barry Marshall and Robin Worren for the discovery of Helicobacter pylori bacterium.
54-year old Barry Marshall and 68-year old Robin Worren are famous for their works in gastroenterology. In eighties they determined that mucous membrane of stomach can be destroyed by action of certain spiroid bacterium, which they secreted and described. They were awarded more than 10 scientific and medicine premiums for this discovery.
Nobel prize laureates in physics and chemistry will be declared on October 4 and 5 on 13:45 by Moscow time.
