In the vicinity of Ulyanovsk is launched unprecedented first Russian wind farm, which will appear in the framework of the state program of support for renewable sources of energy. The size of wind turbines or as they call it, wind turbines are striking: 53 m - length of each blade, and the total height of the structure will be nearly 140 meters. And although across the country the project is relatively small - only 35 MW, it will be enough to provide electricity to 15 thousand apartments.
In a project created as private-public partnerships will be invested more than 5 billion rubles. The creation of the country's first wind farm is only the beginning, I assure regional authorities. Plans to increase capacity to 500 MW, the creation of new jobs. Symbolically, the wind began to build in the Year of ecology in Russia. In the near future in wind power Russia will invest about 100 billion rubles, of which 15 are in this new industry will invest the state Corporation "RUSNANO". Most of the projects will be launched in the Ulyanovsk region: this region has a unique climate, 14 plants in an area of 120 football fields - Russia's first wind station should be up and running by the end of this year.
