Robert Pattinson is set to plat Kurt Cobain in a biopic
The 23-year-old has had several discussions with the late Nirvana rocker?s widow Courtney Love about the role. Courtney is helping Universal Pictures with the film?s production, and is keen to ensure she enlists the perfect person to play Kurt.
"This is a big money deal for Courtney. She has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music," a source told British newspaper The Sun. "Robert has been calling and emailing her non-stop. She has been a bit wound up by his manners, but he is her number one choice to play Kurt."
Courtney is desperate for Scarlett Johansson to play her, and thinks she has a good chance of convincing the actress to take the role. Scarlett is close pals with Courtney and Kurt?s daughter Frances Bean, 17, and Courtney hopes she will jump at the chance to be in the film.
Director David Fincher, who has worked on movies including Fight Club and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, will helm the production, which has the tentative title All Apologies.
Kurt and Courtney married in Hawaii in February 1992, with Frances Bean born in August of the same year. Kurt battled drug addiction and depression, and committed suicide by shooting himself on April 8 1994.
