Katy Perry and Russell Brand want marry in Japan
The couple got engaged on New Year`s Eve last year following a whirlwind romance. They are planning to tie the knot later this year, and it had been thought the ceremony would take place in India, which is where Russell proposed. Katy`s close friend Rihanna recently said she was involved in the planning the pre-wedding celebrations, adding the nuptials would be held in the country.
However, the happy couple are now said to be re-thinking their decision. Katy believes a Japanese wedding might be more special, and is excited about the kind of dress she would get to wear. "Whilst in LA, Russell told a couple of people that they were also considering Tokyo as a venue. It is a really buzzy, vibrant city and somewhere completely different and unique. Katy kept jokingly hitting Russell, telling him to keep his big mouth shut," a source said. "But Katy really likes the idea of wearing some kind of Geisha-inspired bridal dress so it is a real possibility."
The pair are now considering all their options, but are hoping to make their final decision soon so they can start planning.
While they consider where their big day will take place, Katy and Russell have also begun discussing married life. They are both keen for a family, with Katy recently suggesting they consider adoption. She does not want to give just any child a home however, instead asking Russell if they can look after "cute" popstar Justin Bieber. He has agreed to the plan, but has several conditions.
Earlier this week, Russell sparked outrage by claiming more musicians should try heroin. He has battled an addiction to the drug, and joked it could be used to "weed out" bad songwriters as those who weren`t up to scratch would die of an overdose.
His comments infuriated anti-drug campaigners, with David Raynes of the Drug Prevention Alliance saying: "This is mindless idiocy. It smacks of a desperate attention seeking from Brand. It`s just ridiculous. You despair of these people - why would anyone say that?"
