Banderas hopes to "surprise" with a different role
The Spanish actor admitted he was looking forward to working on an exciting project in the future which may shock those who were familiar with his usual work.
He told OK! magazine: "There are good prospects for next year, a possibility of returning to the theatre, a couple of films - one of which I can`t talk about yet, but it`s going to surprise everyone - that I`m going to shoot in Spain. Everything is in place, one way or another, and I`m happy. Tired, because things have been pretty hectic, especially in the last few months, but I`m happy. Without a doubt."
The 49-year-old actor - who stars in the new Woody Allen movie `You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger` - also admitted he doesn`t yet know very much about the storyline of the film, but took on the role because it was an opportunity to work with the legendary director.
He said: "My film with Woody Allen will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and I just made an independent movie. He sent me only my scenes when I said I would do the movie - you read only what you do... It`s going to be the first movie that when it opens, I know nothing about."
