Jordan stops a joint project with Russia to build nuclear power plants
Jordan terminates the project for the construction by Russia of a nuclear power plant of large capacity because of its high cost, reports Bloomberg, citing a source in the government of Jordan.
As noted, now the Kingdom wants to build more cheap the atomic unit is small, about 200 megawatts of power.
Russia and Jordan in 2015, signed a contract for the construction in Jordan of the first in the country nuclear power plant consisting of 2 units with a total capacity of two thousand megawatts. The cost of the project amounted to ten billion dollars. Original 1st nuclear power plant unit is planned to start in early 2020-ies.
