Ronan Keating was close to tears as he sang love songs
The Boyzone singer announced his 12-year marriage to wife Yvonne was over last week. It has since been claimed Yvonne called time on the relationship after finding a secret phone Ronan had used to send sexy text messages to a dancer, understood to be 26-year-old Francine Cornell. It is alleged Ronan had a seven-month affair with Francine.
The star was contractually obliged to perform at the SkyDance festival in Zurich, Switzerland, over the weekend. He wore his wedding ring on stage, and gave an emotional rendition of If Tomorrow Never Comes. The star punched a drum and beat his chest as he sang.
"Thanks to all of you. Until next time life truly is a rollercoaster," he told the audience, referring to his hit Life Is A Rollercoaster.
The 33-year-old singer spent much of the weekend in his luxury hotel, and didn`t attend any parties. He left his room to sing four separate times and to go for a walk around the lake, but apart from that chose to be alone.
"We`ve hardly seen him and he`s hardly said a word," a dancer told British newspaper The Daily Mirror. "As soon as he came off stage on Saturday, he just said `God, that was tough - I just want to go home.`"
Ronan is said to have told friends he knows how much he has hurt Yvonne, but is determined to win her back. He has apparently cleared his schedule for the next three weeks and plans to return to Ireland to discuss the future of the marriage with the former model.
Ronan and Francine are believed to have met on Boyzone`s tour last year. She and Ronan have reportedly kept in contact over the last 12 months.
It has been alleged Francine had told friends about the romance, and even finished her relationship with her boyfriend as she wanted to be with the singer.
"Francine had become quite indiscreet. She told more than one friend this year she couldn`t date other men as she was with Ronan. It was as if she wanted people to know," a source told British newspaper The Sun.
Yvonne, 36, and Ronan married in 1998, when the singer was just 21. They have three children together, and he has frequently spoken of how lucky he felt when they wed.
