On the frigate "Admiral Makarov" Ship "Admiral Makarov" was named after the Russian naval commander and scientist, Vice-Admiral Stepan Osipovich Makarov. It laid on the Baltic shipyard "Yantar" in February 2012, launched in September 2015. State validation of the frigate began in the fall of next year in the Baltic and Barents seas.
