Dita Von Teese was shocked after meeting Russian people
The 37-year-old burlesque star is currently in Moscow performing a series of private shows for a wealthy businessman. She grew up "terrified" of Russians due to all the propaganda distributed during the Cold War, and was stunned by their hospitality and kindness when she arrived there.
"It`s surreal to come here. I grew up in Michigan... during the Cold War, terrified of Russia...turns out Russians are cuddly+fun! (sic)," she wrote on her Twitter page.
Dita`s post prompted several of her misinformed fans to question her age as they believed the Cold War had ended in the 1960s.
"Uh, I`m not that old guys, the Cold War was still on in the 80s when I was a little girl. It ended in `91! (sic)," Dita wrote.
Dita couldn`t believe her luck when her manager called and asked if she would fly to Russia to perform some private shows. She was thrilled to oblige, and flew from Paris the next day.
"An extremely wealthy person just ordered a Crazy Horse Paris with a side of Dita Von Teese....hopping on a plane tomorrow!! (sic)," she wrote last week.
