Tom Cruise felt like Grace Kelly when he was filming his latest movie
The actor stars opposite Cameron Diaz in Knight and Day, an action comedy about a woman who falls in love with a spy. Critics have compared Tom`s performance to that of Eva Marie Saint from the Hitchcock classic North By Northwest, while Cameron has been likened to Cary Grant.
Tom is not at all offended by the comparison, insisting he felt as graceful as an old Hollywood actress during shooting.
"I was feeling very Grace Kelly throughout the whole process," Tom laughed to Empire magazine.
Tom loved starring in the film because he got to do so many action scenes. He adores the spy genre, and enjoyed the opportunity to really work on a character.
"You know, Hitchcock, his sense of structure, his storytelling, was obviously impeccable and the things just evolve from there," Tom explained.
"Also playing in a spy genre for me is really fun - I love making my missions. There`s language the audience understands, it allows us to take leap so that the plot is down here and the characters are on top."
