The Director of "moose island" called arson possible cause of fire in the national Park
The cause of the fire in the suburban part of the national Park "elk island" could be arson, said Park Director Igor Sarafanov.
"We assume, because it's arson. Within the Park was carried out works on clearing of dead wood and trees destroyed by bark beetles in 2018. The dead trees were cut and stockpiled along the road prepared for removal. Clearly, the wood doused with flammable liquid and set on fire, " said Sarafanov, whose words the press service of the Ministry of Russia.
As explained in the Ministry, the fire occurred on the first day of the weekend in place of medical deforestation close quarter Pekhra-Pokrovskoye (Balashikha, Moscow region), fully repaid in 5. 30. Damage to forest stands is not caused, burned wood remains and piles with logs. There is smoke from evaporation.
All night on the fire place worked MOE calculations and efficiently patrol the national Park. A criminal case according to paragraph 8. 32 of the Code on administrative offences for violation of the rules of fire safety in the woods.
