Zac Efron: I always follow my heart
Zac Efron admits he doesn`t like planning out his life, instead preferring to be led by his heart.
The actor is reluctant to map out his future and often makes decisions spontaneously. Zac shot to fame playing basketball star Troy Bolton in the popular High School Musical franchise and puts some of his career success down to fate.
While he loves making movies, the 22-year-old hunk has confessed he has no idea what projects he would like to get involved with in the next couple of years.
"In my career, I`ve never been the man with the plan," he said in an interview with E! online shortly before he received the Shining Star Award at the Maui Film Festival this week. "I`ve never been one to say, I want to be here in 10 years. People always ask, `Where do you want to be in 10 years? What do you see in the future?` I don`t know. I always like to throw caution to the wind and follow my heart."
Zac`s next big screen outing is in romantic fantasy Charlie St. Cloud, which also stars Kim Basinger and Ray Liotta. Zac plays the title role in the movie about a young man who is overcome with grief following the death of his younger brother and ends up working in the cemetery where his sibling is buried to remain close to him.
Zac was thrilled to work with the Hollywood legends and has revealed he is happier than ever with his personal and private life.
"I`m loving the ride right now," he said. "I`m loving it."
