Military hydrographs opened five new Russian Islands in the Arctic
The hydrographic group of the Northern fleet operating out of the complex expedition on the archipelago Franz-Joseph, agreed to open five Islands in the Kara sea.
The Islands are in the Bay of Visa to the West of the North Island in glacier area Wilki.
the first time, a fresh site noticed in 2016 in the analysis of satellite images. It is planned that before the Island hid the glacier.
in 2015-2018 hydrographs of the Northern fleet helped discover more than 30 new Islands, capes and bays in the area of the archipelagos of Franz Josef Land and Novaya Zemlya.
Complex expedition of the Northern fleet to the Land of Franz Joseph was launched from Severomorsk fifteen of August and should last until the end of September.
