Vladimir Putin dismissed the Director of the Federal penal service Colonel-General Gennady Kornienko.
The decree posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.
Kornienko headed the Federal penitentiary service for more than seven years, since June 2012.
Prior to that, he served in the KGB, he was the Deputy Director of the FSO and Director of the State courier service.
