The Nobel prize in physics was awarded for work in astronomy and astrophysics
James Peebles, Didier Kilos and Michelle Major, won the Nobel prize in physics for the year 2019.
Scientists will receive the award for work in astronomy and astrophysics.
The award ceremony will be held in Stockholm on 10 December-the day of death of the founder of the Nobel prize - Swedish entrepreneur and inventor Alfred Nobel (1833-1896).
The amount of each Nobel prize this year is 9 million SEK (more than 900 thousand US dollars).
