The UN Secretary General has supported the Russian position on the US refusal to issue visas to diplomats
UN Secretary-General shares the position of the capital of Russia on the issue of non-issuance of U.S. visas to Russian diplomats to participate in the work of the General Assembly of the global organization, told correspondents zampolpreda of Russia to the UN Gennady Kuzmin.
On Tuesday, the UN held a meeting of the Department on relations with the host state of the headquarters of the UN to discuss the problem of non-issuance of visas to American diplomats.
"It was announced the message of the UN Secretary General, he fully shares our position," he added.
Kuzmin also said that North America explain the non-issuance of visas to diplomats for reasons of safety that, as said zampolpreda, is absurd.
The United States in the current session of the UN General Assembly has not issued visas to 18 diplomats from Russia, as well as among them members of delegations to the First and Sixth committees of the organization dealing respectively with disarmament and legal issues.
