Christina Milian got divorce papers before act of delivery
The 32-year-old producer - real name Terius Nash - claimed his marriage was "irretrievably broken" in the papers, which were filed on February 17.
The `Dip It Low` singer gave birth to daughter Violet just over a week later on February 26.
Earlier this month, The-Dream claimed he felt suicidal in the wake of his split from the singer after just five months of marriage.
He blogged: "I`ve cried about this for months, after interviews, after prayer and I`ve tried to take my own life at a point because of the failure that was looming.
"This is not to justify anything, it`s true emotion! It`s a real thing that involves real people!"
Christina and The-Dream married in the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, just a week before announcing she was pregnant with their first child together.
He recently confessed to having spent little time with Violet since her birth - because Christina was protective of their daughter.
He said: "Christina`s very attached. She doesn`t let anybody near that baby. Not even me sometimes!"
