Vladimir Putin paid homage to Russian citizens and compatriots living abroad on the Day of Russia.
The head of state recalled that "piercing sense of homeland" has always helped the Russians to go through adversity and keep themselves " in the crucible, to answer any challenges."
Director participated in the ceremony of raising the Russian flag on Poklonnaya hill in the Russian capital, and later presented awards to the Heroes of Labor. The event was attended by the head of the National medical chamber Leonid Roshal and artistic President of the Maly theatre Yuri Solomin.
