Happy Rod Stewart
Rod Stewart has revealed that at the age of 65, he is finally happy for the first time in his life.
Rod Stewart is happy for the first time in his life.
The `Maggie May` rocker - who announced earlier this year he and 39-year-old wife Penny Lancaster are expecting their second baby together- said he has only been truly happy in the last few years since working things out with all of his children.
Rod - who has six children from four previous relationships, as well as four-year-old Alistair with Penny - said he regrets time spent fighting with his children.
He explained to Live magazine: "I`m happier. This last three or four years has been it for me. I`m in a place where I really love to be. I`ve mended fences with my kids. For the first time in my life we`re all loving each other, because nothing hurts more than if I argue with my kids."
The 65-year-old star also credits wife Penny with inspiring his newfound happiness.
He said: "I`ve finally married the right girl and it`s made me happy. My career couldn`t be better and now I`m seeing my kids start to sort themselves out. We`ve all had our problems but bless them, a lot of stuff is behind us now and that makes me really happy".
Rod`s other children are Kimberley, 30, and Sean, 29, with his by first wife Alana Hamilton. He also has Ruby, 23, by model Kelly Emberg and Renee, 18, and Liam, 15, by his second wife Rachel Hunter.
His eldest daughter, Sarah, 46, was born when he was 19 and was brought up in a children`s home until she was four, before being adopted and Rod admitted that the pair are becoming closer.
He said: "I recently gave her my email address for the very first time. Email is an incredible thing. If there`s something you want to say, it doesn`t get all blown up like it does if you`re having an argument over the phone."
