Ex-Beatle Ringo Starr returns to Russia
When it is one of The Beatles, it is always a happening. And here it comes again: Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band, are heading to Moscow and St. Petersburg with two limited concerts on June 6 and 7 accordingly.
This is the 12th tour of the legendary Beatle and his band. Ringo already visited Russia in 1988, visiting the same two cities. This time, Ringo will come to Russia within his European tour, featuring 27 gigs and starting in Kiev, Ukraine on June 4.
As Starr said at a media conference on June 1st, he has not been on a tour around Europe for over a decade. "Now we feel that the time has come," he said. This musical travel will become the most extensive European tour undertaken by Ringo and his All Starr Band, with concerts in Ukraine, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Latvia, Poland, Britain, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, Holland, Germany and Austria.
Forming a new version of the All Starr Band, Ringo Starr will play hits from his solo career and, of course, The Beatles. The band will please the audience with versions of With A Little Help From My Friends, Yellow Submarine, Photograph, It Don`t Come Easy, Boys and many no-less-famous songs. The line-up for the tour features vocalist and guitarist Rick Derringer, Richard Page, Wally Palmer, Edgar Winter, Gary Wright and Gregg Bissonette.
The concert in Moscow will be held in Crocus City Hall on June 6 and the gig in St. Petersburg will take over Oktyabrsky Concert Hall the next day.
