Zvonareva becomes World No. 2
Russia`s tennis star Vera Zvonareva has claimed to the second spot in the WTA Rankings, with Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark continuing her reign at the top, despite never having won a Grand Slam title.
ґThe Zvonareva has shifted Kim Clijsters to third position as the Belgian failed to defend her points from last year at the tournament in Toronto due to injury.
It is a repeat of the Russian`s best-ever result in the WTA Rankings, with the 26-year-old already having been World Number.2 in October last year.
The only other Russian in the Top 10 is Maria Sharapova, who is now seventh after being surpassed by Na Li of China and Czech player, Petra Kvitova.
