Jay-Z has splashed out $250,000 on champagne
The hip-hop star was out celebrating the recent release of his and Kanye West`s joint album `Watch The Throne` in Miami on Sunday (14.08.11) when he purchased "bottle after bottle" of the alcohol because he didn`t want to be "upstaged" by Dallas Mavericks basketball team owner Mark Cuban.
A source close to the `99 Problems` rapper told RadarOnline.com: "Jay knew that Mark Cuban spent over $100,000 after the Mavs won the championship a few months ago, and he wasn`t about to be upstaged.
"He bought bottle after bottle of Ace of Spades and then went all out with the 15-litre bottle that cost $100,000 on its own!"
Insiders close to the Liv nightclub in the Fontainebleau Hotel explained Jay - who is married to singer Beyonce Knowles - left a $50,000 tip for the waiters and waitresses at the end of the evening.
Earlier this year, the 41-year-old star was named the second wealthiest artist in hip-hop, with an estimate fortune of $450 million, which is thought to come from his 50 million album sales, tour revenue, 40/40 nightclub chain and his stake in basketball team New Jersey Nets.
P. Diddy topped the list with a wealth of $475 million.
