Lavrov to discuss OSCE reform in Romania
BUCHAREST, November 8 - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Romania Tuesday, a ministry spokesman said.
Mikhail Kamynin said Lavrov would meet with Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and Foreign Minister Mihai Razvan Ungureanu to discuss reform of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the priorities of the Council of Europe, the continent`s oldest inter-state organization.
The visit is taking place in the run-up to a session of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, on December 5-6, 2005 and Romania`s and then Russia`s presidency of the Council of Europe`s Committee of Ministers, one of its ruling bodies, in 2005-2006.
Kamynin also said the sides would focus on the situation in the Balkans and the Middle East, counter-terrorism and bilateral issues.
