Russian agriculture suffers a lot because of cost increase for fuel
"Because of the cost increase for fuel agriculture will lose 20milliard rubles in 2005." - said the minister of agriculture Alexey Gordeev.
"The cost increase for fuel will cause a lot of troubles for people" - said the minister. According to him the average Russian inhabitants spend around 40% of their salary for food, that?s why the cost raise will bring a lot of problems to people.
He also reminded that the raise for fuel for 9 months in 2005 was 20%, and for the whole 2004 - 63%.
Besides the minister pointed out to the fact that customs legislation doesn?t work properly in Russia. Gordeev says that smuggling still exists in Russia and in these cases most of the agriculture producers just loose their time and money.
Also Gordeev mentioned that on the one hand for the last 2-3 years the rates of growth of agriculture reduced for 1-1,5% in a year. On another hand the import of agricultural food passes ahead of the development of Russian domestic agricultural companies.
As Gordeev says, according to prognosis in 2005 Russia will have harvest of grain-crops for 78 mln. tons. The minister said that in 2005-2006 the export of grain-crops was 10 mln. tons.
He also emphasized that the harvest of vegetables and potatoes are sufficient in 2005-2006.
Gordeev stressed that development of the swine-breeding industry is really high. In the end of 2005 there will be opened several factories in this industry. "But the whole situation in cattle-breeding isn?t so positive because of cutting down the growing of cattles.
As for the poultry-keeping industry, it will go up to 15%.
In 2005 the fishing industry grew up for 12% in comparison with the previous year.
