Cindy Crawford will let her daughter model again
The supermodel was rumoured to have put a stop to 10-year-old Kaia`s career after she made her modelling debut for Versace last month.
But Cindy, 46, admits that while she might be "protective", she would not stop her daughter from pursuing her dream.
Explaining how the shoot came about, she said: "I got called by Donatella Versace`s PR person, who I know because I`ve worked for Versace for years, and they said, `We`re launching this new kids line, we`d love to have Kaia`.
"And of course, I`m like protective mama, so I said, ?Who is doing the pictures?` I said, `I don`t want her looking like a tart. She can`t wear makeup`."
But after being assured it was for a children`s line, Cindy said: "I knew it would be great and thought it could be a good thing for her to try, which she has been saying, `I would like to try`. And we did it and she loved it.
"We weren`t launching her modelling career, it was just one thing. And then it got interpreted as like, `I`m reeling her back`.
"If it was the right - again, I`m going to hold the bar so high for her, in terms of photographers and stuff, because I know. And she doesn`t need to do it at age 10. But if there was some incredible opportunity, why not?"
The mother-of-two, who is married to businessman Rande Gerber - believes the experience gave Kaia a chance to learn about the less glamorous side of modelling.
Cindy added: "The great thing was, she came away from that going, `It`s kind of hard, Mom. It was work`.
"I keep saying to her, `I don`t even need to show up for work anymore. I`m sending you from now on."
