Eminem asks hotel staff to block his windows with tinfoil
The `Stan` rapper likes to have all light blocked out from his rooms and puts white noise on speakers to muffle ambient sounds, to allow him to get the best sleep he can and combat jet lag.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The noise and darkness gets Eminem the best night`s sleep. He uses the technique as he`s always jumping time zones."
The 39-year-old star is no stranger to making wild demands while touring, including renting entire hotel floors and insisting on private elevators.
Last year, Eminem also requested a wooden pond filled with colourful koi carp fish as part of his backstage rider. The fish are said to be calming to watch, but are very expensive, costing between £200 and £600 per fish.
A typical backstage rider demand from the star also includes seedless watermelon, yoghurt, pretzels and an assorted vegetable tray with ranch dip.
Meanwhile, Eminem`s boxing film, `Southpaw` - in which he is planning to star - has been put on hold while he concentrates on his revitalised music career.
Dennis Dennehy, a spokesperson for the rapper, said: "He`s focusing on his music right now, so while he`s doing that, while he`s in that space, he wanted to put this on hold for the time being."
