Tatarstan President:"2006 should become year of Tukay"
Tatarstan, November 11 - The president of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev received the chief of the Writers Association Ilfak Ibragimov.
The meeting was devoted to discussion of organizing programs dedicated to 100th anniversary of Musa Djalil and 120th anniversary of Gabdulla Tukay.
At present day 306 writers are the members of Tatarstan Writers Association. The Association is one of the biggest ones in Russia. The members are occupied with propaganda of spiritual heritage and literature of Tatarstan, improvement of young talents professionalism.
Ilfak Ibragimov was elected on the post of the chief at the XVth congress of the Association in May 2005.
