6 mln unauthorized CDs and DVDs seized in Russia
About 6 mln of unauthorized CDs and DVDs have been seized during October, Russian Ministry of economic development press-cutting service reported.
Pirated copies were seized during unexpected examinations of companies that produce audiovisual data, phonograms and software.
"The repetition work of pirated copies on optical disks CD and DVD was uncovered at some factories, there were seized about 6 mln units of unauthorized disks with recorded feature and cartoon films, musical compositions, videogames, software and the manufacturing equipment for illegal duplication of optical disks", - press-cutting service reported.
Preliminary estimates showed aborted damage for owners is tens of millions of USD.
