Russian prisoner to receive three million rubles from Public Office Prosecutor
The Financial Ministry of Russian Federation will have to pay three million rubles to Evgeny Vedenin as a moral compensation for illegal conviction of offence.
The man from Almetyevsk was convinced in murder and spent four years in the penitentiary of high security, informs the Kazan remedial center.
In May, 20, 2001 law-machinery bodies detained Evgeny in his apartment. As the victim informed, militiamen pushed him on the floor, put on handcuffs and took to the Internal Affairs Department. As it turned out that day the chief of Security Service of "Tatneft" Alexander Kalyakin was killed. Evgeny Vedenin was the only suspected in the murder of the person whom he even didn?t know. Accusation was based on the testimony of the witness, who denied his words at the trial. So, Evgeny was convicted of the murder and illegal storing of weapons and he has been sentenced to 15years imprisonment.
In spring 2004 during the investigation policemen of a different department arrested men who were convicted of the crimes. One of the detained pleaded guilty in the murder of the man for whom Vedenin was put into prison. At that time Evgeny Vedenin has already spent third of his term in the prison, finally the victim was released.
In May 2005 Evgeny appealed to the remedial center of Kazan city. Lawyers of the Center helped to make a statement about the compensation of moral damage. Statement contained information to make Almetyevsk Public Office Prosecutor apologize and give 5mln rubles as a compensation
