Leading Russian media men visit Yerevan
YEREVAN, November 15 - Armenian President Robert Kocharyan on Monday welcomed active contacts between Russian and Armenian media men as he received a group of Russian press chiefs.
They had arrived in the Armenian capital within the framework of the Year of Russia festival in Armenia.
The Armenian president stressed that this kind of communication could signal the start of new initiatives in cooperation in the information sphere. President Kocharyan believes that it will help the people of the two countries to get to know each other better. Members of the Russian delegation stressed the need to expand the sharing of information, Kocharyan?s press service reported. They said they intended to increase the personnel of their correspondent bureaus in Armenia and expressed their readiness to create conditions for retraining Armenian journalists in Russia?s leading media outlets.
