Chinese could spoil Amur waters
Constant monitoring of condition of Amur waters was started today. The reason of that step of Russian officials is an accident on chemical factory in Tzylin province of China. So poisonous substances got to a river Sungari - right inflow of Amur which is a source drinking water supply of Khabarovsk. Depute administrator of "Rosprirodnadzor" Oleg Mitvol asked Russian Foreign Ministry to specify the chemistry of contaminants. It is necessary to take appropriate measures for prevention of large consequences of Amur pollution.
Inspectors now are exercising control within the scope of Khabarovsk territory. Pollution of Amur was not stated at 19:30 of local time. Reasoning from the flow velocity polluted waters will reach region?s borders 30 November 2005, specialists think.
