Russian banks set profit records
Third quarter of 2005 became the most profitable in history of Russian banks.
For 3 months Russian banks got profit in amount of 92 millions of rubles - more than for first half of year and the same amount as for whole 2002. For 9 months of current year profit of Russian banks reached 207 milliards of rubles, while for 2004 they managed to earn 178 milliards of rubles.
In opinion of experts such high results are reached due to operation with securities at stock market and consumer express-crediting, which develops fast.
At the same time, sufficient part of profit is made by risk methods, the main part of profits in provided by limited growth of bank`s holdings, and there is no threat of system crises at bank segment of market.
At the same time experts warns that if banks will follow the route of aggressive increase of credits to population amount of past-due loan will also increase which will be noticeable as growth of credit portfolio will reduce.
