Canadian teenager killed girlfriend with kiss
15-year old Christine Desfordges died from anaphylactic shock.
Girl had allergy on a peanut butter. Her boyfriend several hours before date at sandwich - remains of food in his mouth were enough to cause allergic reaction.
Despite the fact that immediately after fatal kiss parents made an injection of adrenaline dose, they couldn`t save her life. Anaphylactic shock - is one of the most serious and complicated aftereffect of allergy, which causes death in 10-20% of all cases.
Official pathologist`s report about cause of death was not published yet. But experts confirm that this reaction is possible if remains of allergen present on lips and tongue. Children allergist Caren Sigman appeals all highly allergic individuals to tell their friends about illness in order to avoid such incidents. "If they intend to date someone, they have to tell this person about allergy".
According to statistics, 50-100 people die annually from allergy on food in USA. Serious allergenic reaction has about 1.5 millions people.
