United Russia suggested keeping the post of Mayor to Yury Luzhkov.
In case of swinging the election the group United Russia is going to suggest Yury Luzhkov as a candidate to the post of Mayor of Moscow in 2007 to Vladimir Putin.
Moscow Duma Speaker Vladimir Platonov and the group United Russia leader Andrey Metelsky announced it at the press-conference on Wednesday. As reports "Commersant", Moscow members of United Russia has also addressed Luzhkov, as the leader of the party at the election campaign to Moscow Duma, suggesting "forming the government after the elections, basing on recommendations of the party majority". According to them, Yuri Luzhkov confirmed that "political mandate of the party is going to be the guide to action for the city executive power".
Earlier, Luzhkov declared that he was not going to run for the post of Moscow mayor after his term expired in 2007. However, according to Vladimir Platonov, Luzhkov hasn?t claimed that he will reject the proposal if his candidacy is suggested to the president.
At the press-conference Andrey Metelsky made it clear that if United Russia ask Luzhkov to agree for the submission, he will obey party discipline. Members of opposition called this declaration of United Russia the PR move before the elections to Moscow Duma, to be performed on December, 4.
