Khodorkovsky is not able to be engaged in scientific effort in colony
The former head of "YUKOS" Mikhail Khodorkovsky?s lawyers said their client who serves his sentence in a colony in Chita region is not able to be engaged in scientific effort.
The lawyer Yuri Schmidt reminded of Khodorkovsky?s intention to be engaged in scientific effort in the colony. "He took up someone?s post in spite of it. He is disabling someone who might raise money and he is sewing gauntlets", - said the lawyer.
Schmidt explained there were only 170 work places for thousand prisoners, so six men had pretensions of one work place.
Schmidt reports that according to the house rules Khodorkovsy works six hours a day. The free time - he has four hours of the free time - he spends in a library. By the lawyer?s information nobody except Khodorkovsky visit the library.
He also expressed regret for Khodorkovsky could receive just local newspapers in the colony and the only TV set showed nothing except films. "Mikhail Borisovich would be happy to write something new but he doesn?t have any information", - said the lawyer.
Schmidt noted Khodorkovsky lawyers were going to lodge a complaint for the unlawfulness of location of their client to the colony in Chita region.
"I would like to destroy the myth that Khodorkovsky wishes to live there forever. He knows that Lebedev lodged the same complaint and interested whether lodging of his complaint will prevent a processing of Lebedev?s complaint", - said the lawyer.
Moreover Schmidt said the house rules conflict with criminal code standards. By some unwritten rule Mikhail Borisovich may meet us only while spare time. For some reason we can visit him pronouncedly only one by one." - said he.
Karina Moskalenko, the other Khodorkovsky?s lawyer said defense was going to lodge the next complaint to Strasbourg regarding limitation of unimpeded access to justice by punishment execution service.
"We have made a complaint for illegal custody, we discussed with Khodorkovsky a complaint of injustice of the court examination and now after introduced violations concerning us we are going to make the next complaint", - said Moskalenko during the press conference.
