Fishing prohibited in Amur
Governor of Habarovsky krai Victor Ishaev issued an order "About putting a bar on fishing in Amur river, Amur estuary and limitation of fishing production circulation".
As governor of krai explained to journalists, temporary ban on all kinds of fishing is introduced since December 10 and will be cancelled after clarification of chemical pollution influence on consumer properties of fish.
The necessity of this step was noticed by vice-director of Russian Nature Inspection Oleg Mitvol - he considers that ban on fishing in Amur must last for several years.
By data, reported by Far East head of hydrometeorological service Alexander Gavrilov, benzyl spot will get into Amur not earlier than December 19, and reach Habarovsk on December 25. These estimates were made by Chinese side. According to their information benzyl waters are located in region of Czyamusy town, 220 kilometers from confluence of Sungari and Amur rivers.
As a reminder, about 100 tons of toxic compounds got into Sungari, tributary of Amur, on November 13 as a result of explosion on Chinese chemical plant in Czilin province.
