Volga and Kama regions are under waterless threat
Experts are worried about insufficient water inflow to Volga-Kama reservoir.
The head of Ruswaterresource Rustem Hamitov informed several regional executive power representatives about complication of hydrologic situation in Volga river basin.
"According to estimates of governmental institute of Russian nature ecology, the amount of prospective total water income to Volga-Kama reservoir will be 8.8 cubic meters while norm is 11.3 cubic meters".
In order to save water resource during winter season till the end of 2005 Ruswaterresource plans to decrease discharge water over waterworks facilities of Volga-Kama cascade.
To avoid stoppage of water supply to citizens and industrial organizations during autumn and winter periods of 2005-2006, heads of Vologda, Tver, Yaroslav, Kostroma, Volgograd, Ivanov, Astrakhan and Nizhniy Novgorod must inform all users about possible unfavorable situation. "Similar autumn low water level, which caused sufficient damage to economics, was registered in 1996".
