Tick-mutants appeared in industrial regions of Russia
One can get infected with tick-borne encephalitis during first minutes after tick has stuck to victim.
Unpleasant regularity has been discovered by Russian zoologists, who investigate ticks and infections, spread by them, for many years. Accumulation of heavy metals in organism makes these animals more aggressive and active. Amount of such "anomalous" ticks, which spread not the one but several dangerous diseases, increases as environmental pollution grows.
Human adopts environment for personal needs too fast, constructs more automobiles and other equipment. Exhausts "contributes" not only to accumulation of hothouse gases but throw in ions of heavy metals. The response of nature is appropriate.
"The highest percent of anomalous ticks - 42% to 80% - is displayed near industrial center in Poland", - said professor Andrey Nikolaevich Alekseev. Investigations, started in nineties, revealed the constant growth of mutants-parasites over Russian territory - from Kaliningradskaya oblast to Vladivostok. In particular, more than half of ticks became mutants in Vologodskaya oblast (Cherepovez town, near "Severstal" industrial complex) by 2005.
