186 swans died of bird-flue in Kalmykiya
The cause of swans? death in Lagansky district in Kalmykiya is detected to be the bird-flue virus, informed the press-cutting service of the Russian Emergency Ministry regional Center in Southern District.
The research institute "Animals health" experts have come to such a conclusion after the analysis carried out.
The head of Lagansky district administration has announced veterinary quarantine on the territory of Krasinsky rural municipal formation. The territory of Severny, Djadykovsky and Lagansky municipal formations were declared dangerous area, informed the press-cutting service.
Since November 27 in Lagansky district of Kalmykya 186 dead swans have been found. Preliminary analysis didn?t prove the presence of bird-flue. Neither people nor wild fowl and poultry are defined fallen ill during the last days, noted the press-cutting service of the Russian Emergency Ministry.
