Over 260 m3 of snow taken out from Moscow streets for 24 hours
Over 260 m3 of snow has been taken out from Moscow streets for the last 24 hours, reported the chief of the Moscow housing and communal services department press-cutting service Marina Orlova. According to her, all 48 snow-melting facilities are "in full operation". Orlova reminded, that these facilities are capable of melting 140 m3 of snow per 24 hour, but they have "exceeded their capacity twice". According to the data from the department, about 10 thousand units of snow-removal machines are on the street, 4 620 dump-body trucks, over 5 thousand loaders and other mechanisms. The weather forecasters says the snowfall is to continue until Friday afternoon. 7-8 cm of snow are expected to fall by that time. Orlova also reminded, that since Wednesday evening, the city operating staff on cleaning up the streets is working in 24 hour regime.
