Victor Khristenko considers statements of Ukrainian authorities to be bluff
The head of Russian Ministry of industry and energy Victor Khristenko considers statements of Ukrainian government about Russian pressure during settlement of gas issue to be bluff.
"This is an absolute bluff. I don`t know who is putting more pressure - Russia on Ukraine or vice versa", - declared Khristenko on press-conference.
"Talking about interior politics in Ukraine I don`t know which way Russia can put pressure at present moment. The main issue for Ukrainian interior politics is election in March and not the issue of transfer to economically grounded prices on gas", - said the minister.
At the same moment Khristenko considers that Ukraine had enough time to reach the agreement with "Gazprom".
"Ukraine asked for transition period, but it has already lasted for 11 years when Russia sold gas by extremely low price at own loss", - said Khristenko.
He emphasized that all suggestions "Gazprom" offered since March - privileged credit granting, quarter postponement - were directed at softening of transition to market price formation.
"All countries want market economics but they see the market in different ways".
