Russian combined team may enter Top 3 of medalists at Olympic games
Ruisian State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov thinks, that Russian combined team must take the maximum challenge at the Olympic Games in Turin and enter the Top 3 of total won medals.
Talking to journalists on Thursday, he noted: "This task is equal to our sportsmen, I believe in them".
Gryzlov explained, that winter sports are the sports where Russian sports school is traditionally ever strong. "We can account on high results in figure skating, biathlon, hockey. Our position in tobogganing and bobsleigh has grown stronger", he believes.
The chairman of Duma also noted, that there was little time left before the Olympic Games start, the success of Russian team considerably depended on conditions of sports men and women training and preparation. "To provide them with necessary conditions - that is the task for sports officials", parliamentarian thinks.
"We all do remember those unpleasant moments concerning judgment and dope scandals which took place at the last Olympic Games. We?d like to expect from Turin Games just and exciting sport struggle instead of scandals ", said Russian Duma speaker.
