Czech automaker giant "Skoda" to start production in Russia
Czech automaker giant "Skoda" schedules to start production of midsector car "Octavia" in Russia. "It is possible, that the first "Octavia" will come off the assembly line of our factory under construction in current year. It mostly depends on our Russian partners? concernment", reported "Skoda" press-secretary Yaroslav Cherny.
First "Skoda" plans to organize assembly line, the components to be delivered from partner production plants located abroad. Later, as Yaroslav Cherny emphasized, complete turnaround is to be organized in the Russian Federation. In future, the production may be extended with new models.
In the course of the next few years "Skoda" plans to achieve annual output of 250, 000 cars, which constitutes 9% of Russian car market total sales volume. At present in the SIS "Octavia" assembly lines are operating in Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
