Pope receives children from Beslan, Russia
In the course of public audience in the Vatican`s audience hall Pope Benedict XVI met with 30 children who survived the 2004 school hostage siege in Beslan, Russia.
Children were in the group of 8, 000 pilgrims from different countries, arrived to the meeting with Pope. After the general public audience Benedict privately met with Beslan children, who came to Italy on invitation from Civil Defense Service.
At the meeting Pope reminded children about importance of God in modern life. "Things turn problematic and difficult without general knowledge giving sense to everything", he said. "And it is God the Creator."
