Such a decision has been made by Samara authorities grounding on the data presented by specialists of municipal enterprise, conducting regular measurement of ice thickness in the area of assumed footpath.
At the present time, taking in account measurement results, presence of cracks and scours, and forecasts of meteorological service about increasing temperature mode, operating of the ice passage across the Volga river is impossible.
