Andreev and Davydenko won start games at Australian Open
3 Russian tennis-players passed to second round of Australian Open. They are Dmitry Tursunov, who defeated Tim Henman, Igor Andreev and Nikolai Davydenko.
Andreev easily defeated Spanish Nicolas Almagro in 3 sets, and Davydenko broke down resistance of Croat Ivo Karlovich only in 5-th set.
Tennis match of Andreev and Almagro lasted for 1 hour and 49 minutes. Despite the fact that Spanish served more stable and stronger than Andreev (7 aces against 3), he missed more balls. Moreover, Almagro made more unconstrained mistakes. Final score of the game is 7:5, 6:4, 6:3. It should be mentioned that before Australian Open Igor Andreev reached the final of Sydney tournament, where he lost to American James Blake.
Nikolai Davydenko spent 2 hours and 21 minute on the court. Giant Ivo Karlovich (2.07 meters in height) served 31 aces for match, and maximum speed of his serves reached 225 km/h. But Russian sportsman managed to win. He made sufficiently less mistakes (29 against 62) and played more confident. Davydenko won with score 7:5, 4:6, 3:6, 7:5, 6:3.
