Largest oil-gas field during last ten years discovered by "Lukoil"
"Lukloil" company has announced about discovery of a large oil-gas condensate field on the licensed area "Severny" in north part of the Caspian sea.
Oil constitutes 75% total stock of the field, while other "Lukoil"`s fields are mostly gas fields.
New field appears to be the largest oil field, discovered in Russia during the last ten years. Its provisional stock is assessed at 600 million barrels of oil and 34 billion cubic meters of gas. On provisional estimation of the company experts, maximum level of oil production at the new field is to exceed 5 million tons a year, cumulative production is to constitute 80 million tons.
Named after famous oil industry worker Vladimir Filanovsky, the field has been found by the very first prospecting borehole on the structure "Yuzhno-Rakushechnaya", 220 km from Astrakhan.
Recovered oil is light, water-free and sweet. On the company specialists` opinion, the new field surpasses all earlier discovered fields in the Caspian sea.
