Female world junior champion wins male chess tournament
Traditional international chess festival "FINEK" in St. Petersburg has ended with triumph of world champion-2005 among juniors Ekaterina Korbut.
Student of regional University of Economics and Finances has got 7 points in 9 tours and took first place in male tournament. 2 Russian chess-players Nikita Nikolaev (6.5 points) and Mikhail Zakurdaev (6 points) were on second and third places correspondingly.
The leader of female competitions became international gross-master Katerina Rogonyan (Ukraine), who was considered stronger than international master from Chelyabinsk Yulia Kochetova only by additional parameters. Both girls scored 6.5 points. Svetlana Petrenko, an international gross-master from Moldavia, was 1.5 points behind the leaders.
