Radiation background in Vladivostok port exceeds norm by 30 times
Powerful source of radioactive emission was found in fishing port of Vladivostok.
It was discovered in a car entering the territory of the port using "Yantar" detection device. This was informed by special company of radioactive materials` utilization "Primtehnopolis".
The power of the source 30 times exceeded natural radioactive background and represented threat for human health. As it has been established emission was originated from sea device with parts made of Radium-226. The device is withdrawn for land disposal according to legal regulations.
2 weeks ago radioactive device was also disclosed in a parcel sent to Vladivostok from Moscow.
