"Gazprom" to transit Russian gas through Greece
"Gazprom" can organize Russian gas supplies through Greek territory. This was announced by "Gazprom" head Aleksey Millier after meeting with Greek minister of development Dimitris Siufas.
"We had a conversation about gas supplies to Greece, Russian gas transit through its territory", - he said. Greek side suggested "Gazprom" to participate in construction of Burgas-Alexandrupolis oil pipeline.
The day before Russian minister of industry and energy Victor Khristenko announced that Russia, Bulgaria and Greece will hold a meeting in March in order to discuss perspectives of oil pipeline construction. The project represents the alternative to oil transportation through Bosporus and Dardanelle channels, which are overloaded at the moment. A length of the pipeline will reach 280 km, an approximate cost of the project is 783 million euros.
